Clemson University

From the classroom to the dorm room, Clemson University is striving to become a green university.  Several campus wide ‘green’ policies are now in place, including Clemson’s green building policy that requires new construction or renovation projects to be LEED Silver certified (or better).  As a result, seven of Clemson’s current residence halls are LEED certified.  Clemson also has an energy use policy, with the goal of decreasing energy consumption 20 percent by 2020.  A new carpool incentive program further encourages faculty, staff and students decrease campus emissions.  In addition, the Clemson community can ride the fare-free Clemson Area Transit bus.
